Systemic mastocytosis is a disorder where there is an increased number of mast cells within the skin, bone marrow and organs such as liver, spleen, lymph nodes and gastrointestinal tract. The symptom severity varies from being mild to life threatening depending on parts of the body that are affected. Symptoms can include skin reactions, blood disorders, swollen spleen, liver or lymph nodes also gastrointestinal effects such as diarrhea, nausea or vomiting.
